If you are planning to move to Europe you probably have many questions about how your life will look like. One of the most common questions parents ask is whether raising kids in Europe is a good idea? Of course, it will be a big change. Europeans have different ways and customs for nearly everything. Still, since Europe consists of so many different countries there is no uniform answer for anything. Nevertheless, in the following article international moving companies NYC will try to explain how your life in Europe will look like.

If you are planning to raise your kids in Europe you will have many different options

As we already mentioned, Europe consists of many different countries. 44 to be exact. And every country has its own culture, habits, rules, and general atmosphere. Neighboring countries might have some similarities. For example, Norway, Sweden, or Denmark have quite a lot in common. Belgium and Netherlands, Germany and Austria, etc. Still, those similarities are usually in the observer’s eye. When you take a closer look, you will see that every country is unique.

You and your kids will have many options to choose from

Of course, there are countries that are completely distinguishable. Therefore if you are moving to France from USA, you will have a totally matchless experience. Naturally, there are many more countries to choose from. There are countries in Eastern Europe. Those countries are generally poorer. However, people there live slower lives unburdened by massive European bureaucracy. As you can see, in Europe, there are so many different options. And it all depends on what you are looking for for your kids.

Is raising your kids in Europe safe?

When it comes to moving with kids, parent’s primary concern is safety. You do not want to hire international services, organize the whole process and end up moving with your children to a country that has safety issues. Luckily, Europe does not have such issues. Sure, some regions are safer than others. For example, in France, because of a large migrant population, some parts of Paris are not considered safe anymore. Also, large demonstrations are quite common in France.

It is their tradition to fight for their rights on the streets. Unfortunately, a lot of properties get damaged that way. But if you are not living in the center of Paris or other major cities you should be ok. France actually might be the country with the biggest safety issues right now in Europe. Of course, it is far from any real danger. However, if you are moving there with your kids you will have to pay close attention when choosing your city or neighborhood.   As far as the rest of Europe is concerned, you and your kids will have no safety issues whatsoever.

Will you have language issues when you are raising your kids in Europe?

If you are moving to Europe with kids, you might have language issues in some countries. Again, we will take France as an extreme example. French people are known to refuse to speak any other language but French. It is something that they draw from the past when they were a colonial power. And half of the world spoke their language. Therefore, they take this as a thing of pride and expect that everyone speaks French, especially when in France. The good thing is that most of them understand English quite well. Therefore, you will be able to tell them what you want. However, expect that you will be answered in French. Some people might find this as a problem.

Still, if you are organizing this overseas household moving to broaden your kids’ views, moving to a country where they will not feel comfortable speaking English, might actually be a good idea. If you move to the Netherlands, where everyone speaks perfect English, do not expect that your kids will learn a new language. Things will definitely be easier. They will fit in quicker. In the end, it all depends on what you are looking for.

Europe has a rich history that goes back to ancient times in some regions

Moving to Europe with your kids will definitely broaden their knowledge and views. European countries have a history and culture that goes back thousands of years. Therefore, your kids will have an opportunity to learn a lot about the past times, see how the architecture looked like two hundred, five hundred, or even a thousand years ago, and much more. Of course, every country has its own history and how long it reaches in the past.

If you move to England for example, you will have an opportunity to visit places that go back to ancient times like Stonehenge. Of course, there are many other ancient sites in Europe.   It all depends on where you are moving to.

You will live a healthier life in Europe

When it comes to health, Europeans definitely live healthier lives than people in the States. Of course, the main reason for this is the food. Naturally, like everything else, every country has its own cuisine but generally, they all use fresh and healthy ingredients, cook at home, and generally eat moderately.

You will have the biggest health-vise benefits if you decide to move to one of the Mediterranean countries like France, Spain, Italy, Greece, or even Croatia. Those countries and other countries in the region have especially delicious and healthy cuisines that you and your kids will benefit from for sure.

Raising your kids in Europe is a great idea!

As you can see, raising your kids in Europe is nothing to be afraid of. In fact, you and your kids can only benefit from such an idea. Of course, you need to have a good plan and pick the country that you think will offer you the most. You have so many options. So start researching now.
